The We Are Public Awards took place in De Melkweg, Amsterdam. Secretly, it was not a real 'award show', but a tribute to the artists.

The idea for this evening started with the artists themselves, who powerfully choose who they nominate, for every conceivable category. That had a snowball effect and resulted in hundred great nominations. 

In the run-up to the We Are Public Awards there has been an extensive on- and offline campaign including posters, announcements and timetables. During the evening a six meter long curtain of sashes showed all the chosen winners and their award titles. Which became a colorful and dynamic installation by the makers who came to collect their award.
